The Sunflower Dancers, Mor Vick, Henry Flores, Esti Ashkenazi, Isaac Sananes, Mike Ticas, and Myriam Soavinzara, Back in 2003

It seems like yesterday that I was dancing in one of the greatest performing groups of all time, The Sunflower Dancers. You never heard of it, well, take my word for it, they were the best. They have the best dancers and the best looking women. I was in heaven while I was performing with that group. I got to fulfill my desires of being in the spotlight while enjoying a little eye candy.
The group was composed of Mor Vick, Henry Flores, Esti Ashkenazi, Isaac Sananes, Mike Ticas, and Myriam Soavinzara way back in 2003. The ring leader was Esti. She still is today. I recently went to visit Esti to do a fine art photo shoot with her.

Playing with My Plastic Camera is so much fun. It’s like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get. Until you process the film that is. I have tried using a Diana lens and mounted it onto my Digital SLR with a Lomography to DSLR adapter, but it is not the same as using film and it is not the same as using a Holga 120N.

On October 2000, close to the Halloween Holiday, Jenny Savage and myself, Henry Flores, had a date at the Hollywood Bowl. After winning a dance competition, Jenny and I had the opportunity to dance our asses off to Poncho Sanchez to a 10,000 audience in attendance. Performing at the Hollywood Bowl

Henry A. Flores may hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, but SALSA is his passion. No, not the kind you eat, what Henry loves to do is dance, dance, dance! Henry has been dancing most of his life professionally for the last seven years.
On July 29th, Henry and his professional competition dance partner, Jenny Savage, participated in and won a Salsa dance competition at the Sherman Oaks Fashion Square. Their prize was the opportunity to perform in the Jazz Festival on August 2nd, at the Hollywood Bowl in front of 10,000 people!
The pair were introduced to the crowd by Son Mayor, one of LA’s hottest bands, as “professional dancers about to show the audience at the bowl what REAL dancing was.” They took the stage and danced a totally improvisational performance to the music of their presenters. Besides the thrill of dancing at the Bowl, Henry also had the opportunity to meet Poncho Sanchez, a world famous conga player, who happily autographed Henry’s vest. Also on hand to give his congratulations to the two dancers was basketball legend Kareem Abdul Jabar.
Henry has participated in numerous other dance competitions, but never before in front of 10,000 people. “Dancing at the Bowl was a thrilling experience” said Henry. “I like to perform and I like to dance.”
Henry owns his own dance company and studio called Latin Intrigue Rhythm and Dance. He credits his parents for inspiring him to become a dancer. “When I dance I feel complete. I think of the time when I first saw my parents dancing together…the way they moved…they are the source of where my dancing comes from.”
Henry and Jenny are currently semi-finalists in the Conga Room competition and will be competing again on November 2nd. If they win, they will once again perform at the Hollywood Bowl, this time as finalists in a dance competition that is part of the Latin Jazz Festival. The winners will receive not only the $3,500 cash prize, but also the prestige of performing at the Hollywood Bowl and the recognition of their colleagues and thousands of Salsa fans.
When he’s not dancing, you can find Henry participating in the Engineering Rotation Program. He has already completed one year of rotation, working with John Franklin in the Test department, and David Madajian in IC Design, and is currently in the Electronics Design group with Greg Hartley. Congratulations Henry!

I have great news. I am in the final proofing stages of my book. A Day In The Life Of The Paparazzi is about to become a reality. It will be printed by Toppan Printing Company using an offset printing process. The cover will be a black cloth material with the main images pressed onto the material. The tittle text will have silver leaf and the books will be limited Fine art editions. Soon, you will be able to pick up the book at the luxurious Paparazzi Ristorante inside the Sheraton Gateway Los Angeles (http://www.sheratonlax.com), where my pictures are currently hanging in a permanent exhibition. I am so exited.
Book Description:
A Day In The Life Of The Paparazzi! features a living vicariously approach to depicting the trade of the paparazzo, with self-narrated adventures in every vignette and interspersed photographs that aptly represent the craft. Through them, the author convincingly declares, “I am part of the entertainment industry and without me or without the other paparazzi out there, celebrities wouldn’t be who they are.” Follow the author and photographer, Henry Flores, on his pursuit to get that perfect shot. Henry Flores has been featured on ABC World News, NightLine, Extra TV, and many other media productions, including documentaries from Germany, Canada, and the USA. His company, Buzz Foto, LLC, is responsible for having launched the first ever modern day paparazzi gallery show, which was recognized by the LA Times, TMZ.com, and other well known news media.
The front cover of the book has a picture of Lindsay Lohan surrounded by paparazzi, which he took while she was at the peak of her career. The book contains 120 pages of celebrity photos, along with some never before seen photos of the starlets of today and possibly, the icons of tomorrow.

I work with a lot of models and Alexia Starchild is one of the greats. Her sense of style is incredible and very unique. I arrived at her home just as it was getting dark. She lives in a unique historical building. Her home was amazing. We had tea and then we got down to business. We went to look at her clothes that she wanted to model and I agreed with everything that she had. I almost had no input because she had a great selection. All I did was set up the lights and off we went. With natural ease, we took plenty of photographs with everyone of the photographs looking amazing.
